It’s top ten time and year in review time again. As a special bonus, see my choice for the dog picture of the year at the end of the post.
It has been a very busy year here at the Cooking for Two household. We are just completing an entire house refresh that has consumed most of the time and energy around here for 15 months.
We were without a kitchen for about 6 weeks, which is really not good for a cooking blog. You’re lucky you weren’t looking at pictures of take-out boxes.
My recipe output has suffered some. I’m not sure if it the time/stress of the remodel. Or that I’m still working full-time. Or I have cooked and posted recipes covering almost anything I want to eat.
Blog wise, there are several milestones. We are now incorporated as an LLC. This will just make it easier to act as a business and sign contracts.
We have gone mobile. There is a 65% chance you are reading this on a mobile device. I couldn’t ignore that demand. WPTouch, a WordPress mobile extension, was installed last spring and has been a great success. There are still some technical issues at times, but it has been a tremendous improvement for the majority of you.
The last milestone is growth. There has been a 70% increase in page views in 2015. Now page views are approaching 1 million a month. I still remember the first year and the thrill of hitting 50 page views a day. I was doing it for me as a hobby, and the fact that 50 people would want to look at my recipes in one day was a thrill.
So let’s get to the food. These are the recipes I consider the best of the year. Amazingly, most got very little attention. And given the task of picking recipes again next week, the list might look different. But I have thought about this for 4 days and believe all are worthy choices.
